HEADTEACHER’S MESSAGE
PRE-SCHOOL
Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Tuesday 23rd April saw lots of Teddy Bears coming to Wellow House to enjoy a picnic with the children in Pre-School. The children and their teddy bears enjoyed lots of craft activities, decorating bear biscuits and had lots of fun playing with all the balloons and bubbles. We also welcomed new friends to Wellow who had brought their teddies along to have a tour of the school and join in the fun, as part of our Open Morning.
PRE-PREP
African Art in Year 1
This week, children in Year 1 have been studying African art and looking at how, traditionally, they use a lot of repeated patterns. The children then created their own. We can’t wait to see their end results!

PREP
Sleeping Beauty – Newark Palace Theatre
A little bit of panto magic was sprinkled at Newark Palace theatre last night! Lola (y9), Annie (y6) and Scarlett (y5) performed to an enthusiastic audience after 11 weeks of rehearsal. You may remember that the auditions for this semi professional production look place earlier in the year. Last night, Ms Orger and I saw the results of weeks of effort, line learning, choreography practising and singing rehearsal come to fruition! Lola opened the show as Mofffat, delivering an assured and energetic duet supported by the whole chorus. Annie and Scarlett dazzled in their costumes and were so confident on stage! The girls had many dances and songs to perform- the finale song was fantastic and had the audience clapping and singing along!
My huge congratulations to all the cast, but especially to our Wellow performers. Not only for a tremendous performance, but for taking on an opportunity and running with it. Experiences like this will be remembered long after the stage curtains close. We are extremely proud of you all.
