Throughout your child’s school life at Wellow House School, they will develop an inquisitive nature and a love of learning. Our prep school aims to prepare your child for the challenges of Senior school, providing a firm academic and personal grounding on which they can grow.  

We focus on developing healthy, happy, and confident children both within and beyond the curriculum. By promoting a strong work ethic and maintaining high expectations, we ensure that your child makes a smooth transition to secondary education as a well-rounded, accomplished individual.  

The Curriculum  

Our timetable is full and varied, encompassing not only core academic subjects such as Maths and English but also a wide array of creative pursuits. This balanced approach ensures that students have opportunities to develop their intellectual capabilities through subjects like Religious Education, PSHEE, French, Music, Art, Choir, Computing, Reasoning, Physical Education, Swimming and Games.   

Each week, Prep pupils embark on their Enrichment journey, enhancing their holistic development. Spanish is introduced from Year 4, broadening their linguistic skills and cultural awareness.  

Every child receives regular feedback on their progress and effort throughout the term, with the support of a dedicated tutor who helps them identify areas for improvement. If additional educational support is needed, we have a strong support team ready to assist.

PASTORAL CARE

At Wellow House School, we prioritise pupil well-being within a caring and nurturing environment. Our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education) programme plays a crucial role in developing. social skills and preparing them for adulthood. It is complemented by pupil-led assemblies and a tutorial system that provide consistent support and reinforcement of key concepts.
