Pastoral care of our children is at the forefront of all we do, and we understand how important it is to build a positive and strong relationship with our children, their families, and extended families from the outset.
Our highly trained and experienced staff offer every child the opportunity to learn and experience something new every day, be that in the classroom or outside within our fabulous grounds. Our specialist provision also includes ensuring that children begin to learn Phonics and Maths confidently in preparation for Pre-Prep, as well as participating in structured and guided play.
“We’re constantly impressed by the innovative teaching methods and the dedication of the teachers at Wellow House. Our daughter is thriving here, both academically and personally.” – Proud Parents
We understand all children learn and develop differently and at their own pace. Every child is treated as an individual and, together with their assigned keyworker, is taught around their ability and interests. We have high behavioural expectations of our children, promoting good manners, teamwork, respect, and kindness. All of which our children have in abundance and support their personal, social, and emotional development.
With exceptional indoor and outdoor learning environments, we nurture our children’s curiosity and imagination. Together with our comprehensive and creative curriculum, we help every child reach their maximum potential, becoming a confident and resilient learner in preparation for a seamless transition to the Reception Class in Pre-Prep.
Being part of an exceptional Prep-school gives us access to specialised teachers and our children have weekly PE, Music, Swimming and Outdoor Learning lessons as part of the Pre-School curriculum. In addition to this, we also offer a wide range of other subjects such as Cycling, Mandarin, Cookery, Dance, Swimming, Forest School, Music, Gardening and Tennis as the children move up into Reception and Key Stage 1.
ENCOURAGING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND OUTDOOR PLAY AND SPORT
We aim to instil the importance of fitness in your child from an early age. By promoting the benefits of exercise while offering plenty of outdoor play and school sport, we ensure that your child will return home both engaged and fulfilled.
Your child’s physical and emotional development is crucial in the Early Years. Interspersing classroom learning with outdoor learning and sport in a safe and productive environment contributes significantly towards the wellbeing of your child. Through learning sports and through outdoor play, your child will develop a positive attitude towards sharing, co-operation, and competition.
Our programme of Physical Education is designed to enhance your child’s confidence and self-esteem by offering a variety of different sports and activities that are accessible to all. Children from Pre-School enjoy weekly swimming sessions in the onsite swimming pool with our specialist swimming coach. The school sports specialist takes the children for PE sessions each week using the excellent indoor and outdoor facilities to develop their gross motor skills. Through using a variety of equipment and participating in fun activities, they learn the skills to negotiate space and obstacles safely, with consideration for themselves and others, develop strength, balance, coordination, and confidence to promote a positive attitude and build up habits that will keep them remaining active and healthy.
