A Day In The Life

A Day at Pre-Prep

8:00 am: Breakfast club begins in the dining room. This is a drop in service for an additional cost.

8:30 am: The children are taken to the Pre-Prep playground by a member of the Pre-Prep team. Pre-School children are escorted to their setting where they are met by the Early Years Teacher.

8:45am: The school day begins with registration in the pre-school department.

10:30 am: A snack is provided, offering a selection of fruit, vegetables, cheese, crackers, and occasional treats from our kitchen, along with milk and water.

12:15 pm: The morning session concludes. Children going home are collected from the Pre-School. The remaining children have lunch and playtime with the reception class until 1:15 pm.

1:15 pm: Afternoon activities begin. Children engage in a range of activities, including child-initiated and adult-led continuous provision, fostering learning through curiosity both indoors and outdoors as appropriate.

2:45 pm: The children have an afternoon snack.

3:30 pm: The session ends. Parents can collect their children unless wrap-around care is required.

Children needing wrap-around care are taken to Owl Club, where they enjoy various games and activities, both inside and outside, and have a small tea of sandwiches and fruit. Children can be collected from the Pre-Prep department anytime up to 6:00 pm.

5:00 pm: Buses depart Wellow. If you would like your child to have a place on the bus please book in with the school secretary. There is a charge for the school bus.

Throughout the day, children follow a structured timetable. They spend time in the setting or its surrounding grounds and have scheduled lessons in PE, Music, and Swimming with specialist teachers. Each morning includes Numeracy and Phonics sessions, and children enjoy free-flow activities for the rest of their sessions, both indoors and outdoors in our designated play area.
