Funded Places
No parents with a talented child should feel that Wellow House is beyond their means. A percentage of pupils currently at the school are receiving some form of financial support and this can be through a scholarship, a bursary, or a combination of the two. We believe every child has the right to an excellent education, and those of exceptional talent deserve every opportunity to shine, regardless of their background.
Rest assured, that students who require financial assistance remain anonymous within the school community and will be treated no differently to any other student. We value all of our children and their success is our priority.
Anyone interested in securing their child a place via a bursary or a scholarship must complete our Financial Assistance Application form and return this to the school office. All applications are evaluated by our team of directors and governors.
These are the ways in which a candidate can secure a funded place:
Scholarships
Scholarships may be awarded to pupils aged 7-11 who possess outstanding academic potential. Awards may also be made to pupils who are gifted in art, music or sport.
Scholarships are not means-tested, and this means that your child can be admitted based on their aptitude alone, however, it’s also possible to receive a bursary in some circumstances.
Bursaries
Bursaries are awarded from the Stewart General Charitable Trust as well as general school funds to assist parents who are unable to meet the full fees or those who require short-term assistance.
Bursaries are means-tested (based on a family’s income and assets) and are reassessed annually on a case-by-case basis.
Sibling Discounts
A discount of 10% off the total tuition fees are made for a parent’s second child and all subsequent children – this applies whether or not the older pupils are still at the school.
This is to show recognition to the families who remain loyal to us over the years and to thank them.
Childcare
Wellow House School continues to offer outstanding education to children aged 3-13 and we are pleased to be able to continue to offer 15 hours of free childcare under the nursery voucher scheme. A top-up of an additional 15 hours may be used after a child’s third birthday.
