HEADTEACHER’S MESSAGE
Another week has flown by! Seeing the children on the grounds consistently has been a real plus. Let us hope the rain becomes more infrequent as the ‘summer’ term goes by.
I do want to say Good Luck to our Y11 students. I am sure they will perform admirably in their GCSE’s – they continue to work hard and deserve to succeed.

Pre-Prep to Prep Transition
Prep Community Assembly/Workshop
On Friday afternoon, Mr Thompson and Miss Wood hosted the whole of years 3-6 for a very special community assembly and workshop.
We discussed how everyone at Wellow, adults and pupils alike, have a voice and an opportunity to make positive change.
The pupils made the most of the chance to share their own thoughts, ideas and suggestions directly with the Headmaster. They were asked to present three things that they really liked about school, in a written or pictorial format, before coming up with three things that they would like to improve to make the school even better.
We demonstrated our ability to think reflectively and make valid contributions towards our school community.

Y11 Geography Trip to Hornsea
On Friday 26th April our Y11 Geographers had a great trip to Hornsea beach to carry out their Geography fieldwork. The students studied longshore drift and collected data at the beach and along the shoreline. It was quite a breezy day, but at least the rain kept off for us.
After completing all the tasks, we all went for some delicious fish and chips and had a quick trip to the amusement arcade, where many of the girls managed to win a teddy!

Year 7 Peasant’s Revolt
Year 7 have been studying the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381 and enjoyed showing their displeasure at their low wages and extra work after the Black Death. They were also annoyed about a brand new poll tax (those never go down well!) and the domination of a young king Richard II by his nobles.
